Burlington’s Company Shops Market Co-op Grocery Store Makes a Generous Donation to the March Second Sunday Community Supper

The Alamance NAACP, Life’s Journey UCC, and the Bynum Center would like to thank Company Shops Market Co-op Grocery Store for their generous donation of ingredients for last weeks Community Supper.

Alamance NAACP members prepare jambalaya, rice and beans, and collards for the second Sunday meal, in the kitchen of Life’s Journey UCC kitchen. Meals are supplemented with drinks, ice, paper products, sides, and desserts by individual volunteers.

The Bynum Center hosts 60-80 people on second and fourth Sundays for the Community Supper program.

The second and fourth Sunday Community Supper program is an ongoing collaboration between local individuals, organizations, and businesses. Free hot meals are provided to adults and children who are in need, with the long term goal of creating an opportunity for community members of all circumstances to sit down and share a meal together.
